Calendar - Club Social Events

The Club offers a variety of social activities for members who enjoy hitting the open road in their Alfas - or simply enjoy the company of other Alfisti. Activities range from restaurant evenings to extended week-ends away in the country. Occassionally, a social outing will coincide with the opportunity for members to display their pride and joy at a classic car show or other display.

Manly to Tamborine
Dinner and Night Run - Summer in Queensland is HOT! It's a big part of why we live here, but a hot summer's day is not the best time to drive a pre-aircon Alfa, or a Spider. So to solve that, we're having a night run. We'll start with dinner at Lido Italia, 11 Cambridge Parade, Manly. I'll book for 6pm. Sunset is at 6:46pm, so by the time everyone is finished eating, it should be much cooler outside. We'll head off for a drive to Tamborine Mountain, where the stars will be much brighter than in the city. And we'll also look at the lights of the Gold Coast. Bring a chair and a drink to sit back and enjoy the view. RSVP to social@arocaqld.com.

Spencer Park, Newmarket
Festitalia 2018 - Festitalia is Queensland's Official Italian Festival and is a community-based event involving Italian associations, businesses and not-for-profit organisations. Come along to enjoy a wonderful cultural and social experience showcasing Italian style, food and creativity. In 2016 and 2017, our club (along with the Fiat car Club) displayed a small number of cars and we will be returning to Festitalia in 2018. This is one of our more enjoyable car display opportunities as the festival itself is great fun and there is plenty to do and see while your car is on show. Over 30 food stalls will tempt your tastebuds, and you can partake of a glass or two of fine wine or beer while watching the varied entertainment on stage. The Club's attendance is being coordinated by Vice President Keith Faulkner. If you are interested in being part of this year's display, please contact Keith (0403 878 749 - vicepresident@arocaqld.com) as soon as possible. Attendees will be emailed entry instructions prior to the event; only vehicles registered to display will be allowed entry to the display area.

Bocce Courts, Spencer Park, Newmarket
Alfa-Fiat Bocce Challenge - This annual event sees teams from AROCA compete against teams from the FIAT Club of Queensland for the privilege of being custodian of a brand new perpetual trophy, sponsored by Brisbane Alfa Romeo. While the FIAT Club is considered our sister organisation - united in a shared love of fine Italian motor vehicles - this doesn't prevent the Bocce Challenge being fiercely contested each year! All AROCA and FIAT club members are invited to participate. Age (our youngest player has been 7) or ability is no barrier, as coaching and hints are provided by professional Bocce players. The excellent Bocce courts used for the competition are located adjacent to Spencer Park, Newmarket. The evening kicks off at 6:30pm. The BBQ will start from 6:45pm and we aim to start playing by 7.15pm. Gold coin donation for the BBQ. Enter via the Foster Street carpark of the International City Church. [See the event webpage for locality map].
