Calendar - Club Social Events

The Club offers a variety of social activities for members who enjoy hitting the open road in their Alfas - or simply enjoy the company of other Alfisti. Activities range from restaurant evenings to extended week-ends away in the country. Occassionally, a social outing will coincide with the opportunity for members to display their pride and joy at a classic car show or other display.

Bocce Courts, Newmarket
Alfa-Fiat Bocce Challenge - This annual event sees teams from AROCA compete against teams from the FIAT Club of Queensland for the privilege of being custodian of a brand new perpetual trophy, sponsored by Brisbane Alfa Romeo. While the FIAT Club is considered our sister organisation - united in a shared love of fine Italian motor vehicles - this doesn't prevent the Bocce Challenge being fiercely contested each year! All AROCA and FIAT club members are invited to participate. Age (our youngest player has been 7) or ability is no barrier, as coaching and hints are provided by professional Bocce players. The excellent Bocce courts used for the competition are located adjacent to Spencer Park, Newmarket. The evening kicks off at 6:30pm. The BBQ will start from 6:45pm and we aim to start playing by 7.15pm. Gold coin donation for the BBQ. Enter via the Foster Street carpark of the International City Church. This is one of our more enjoyable car display opportunities as the festival itself is great fun and there is plenty to do and see while your car is on show. Over 30 food stalls will tempt your tastebuds, and you can partake of a glass or two of fine wine or beer while watching the varied entertainment on stage. The Club's attendance is being coordinated by Vice President Keith Faulkner. If you are interested in being part of this year's display, please contact Keith (0403 878 749 - vicepresident@arocaqld.com) as soon as possible.
