Following the success of the inaugural event in 2015, we will be holding our second Concours d'Elegance on Sunday 21 May 2017. We expect to attract many exquisite examples of our marques, some of which are rarely seen in public. Fittingly, the backdrop for the Concours will be historic Ormiston House, set amongst fourteen acres of gardens overlooking Moreton Bay, east of Brisbane.

Information for spectators
Ormiston House is located at 277 Wellington Street, Ormiston, approximately 28 kilometres east of the Brisbane CBD. [Map]
Gates will open to the public at 10:30am and public parking is available on the grounds.
Admission is $5 per adult and $1 per child which entitles you to inspect the house and grounds as well as the display cars. The admission fees are collected at the entry gate by Ormiston House volunteers and the money goes to support the Friends of Ormiston House.
Devonshire Teas (some of the best scones around) will be available for purchase at the Ormiston House cafe and the local Rotary Club will be on hand serving up sizzling steak sandwiches from the hotplate, as well as a selection of cold drinks. Of course, visitors are welcome to bring along their own picnics to enjoy on the lawns and gardens overlooking Moreton Bay.
Throughout the day, there will be some delightful instrumental performances by talented local musicians, Alex Averi and Bailey Deagon.
There will also be automotive-themed raffle prizes on offer - head over to the Official’s Marquee to buy your tickets.
The winners of the judging will be announced at 2:00pm and Ormiston House closes its gates at 4:00pm.
Information for entrants
Any vehicle manufactured by Alfa Romeo, Fiat or Lancia is invited and encouraged to enter.
The Club is not charging a fee to enter the Concours or display a vehicle; however, you will still need to pay the Ormiston House normal admission of $5 per adult and $1 per child. The admission fees are collected at the entry gate by Ormiston House volunteers and the money goes to support the Friends of Ormiston House.
Registration [Online Registration Form]
Pre-event registration for vehicles is strongly encouraged. Ormiston House has expansive grounds but the area available for vehicle display is limited.
The display area will be configured based on pre-event registrations and vehicles arriving unannounced for display on the day of the event may not be able to be allocated a display spot and, regrettably, will be directed to the public parking area.
You can register your intent to participate in the event by completing the online registration form. This places you under no obligation, but ensures a spot will be available for you and your vehicle on the day.
If you experience any problems using the online registration form, please contact the event organisers (see the bottom of the page).
There are three Concours classes, based on vehicle year of manufacture:
- Pre 1960 Vehicles
- 1960-1979 Vehicles
- 1980-1999 Vehicles
Vehicles entered for Concours judging will typically have a high standard of finish and presentation and be excellent examples of their marque.
Judging of Concours classes will be on a points system against defined criteria, covering bodywork, interior and boot, under-surfaces and running-gear, wheels and tyres, and engine.
The judging committee will consist of highly experienced and knowledgeable persons, familiar with all aspects of maintenance and restoration of classic vehicles.
In the event of a tied score for a trophy, the Chief Judge will have the casting vote. As always, the judges’ decisions are final.
Two trophies will be awarded for each Concours class; First Place and Second Place.
In recognition that there are well maintained modern examples of the Marques, as well as beautifully prepared modified/race vehicles, two Non-Concours categories will be judged on the day:
- Pride and Joy (Any road-registered Alfa, Fiat or Lancia built 2000 onwards)
- Modified and Competition (Non-stock, race or rally vehicles)
Judging of the Pride and Joy class will be to basic "Show 'n Shine" standards (i.e.: clean and tidy) while the Modified and Competition class will be judged on quality of workmanship and visual appeal.
Two trophies, First Place and Second Place, will be awarded for each of these classes.
People's Choice Trophy
All vehicles displaying an official entry number on their windscreen will be eligible for the People's Choice Trophy.
All participants and visitors on the day will be able to cast their vote for the vehicle they most admire (for any reason) and the winner of the People's Choice trophy will be the vehicle that receives the most votes.
"Display Only" Vehicles
You are welcome to register your vehicle for Display Only, in which case you will not be allocated an official entry number for judging. Please note that priority will be given to cars entered for judging. Display Only registrations may not be able to be accommodated on the day and may be directed to the public parking area.
Arrival and departure
All vehicles must be in place no later than 10:00am.
Club officials will be on site from 8:30am to check entries and guide vehicles to the display area.
This is a public event and the safety of participants and spectators is paramount. Vehicle drivers must obey all directions from Club officials and vehicle speed must be kept to a walking pace.
All vehicles are displayed at the owners' risk and owners must exercise their own discretion regarding security of items left in and around vehicles.
Once in place in the display area, vehicles will be required to remain until after the winners have been announced at 2:00pm. Should individual circumstances require an earlier departure, the departing vehicle must be escorted to the exit by a Club official.
Display vehicles may depart from 3:00pm. Again, in the interest of safety it is required that vehicle drivers obey all directions from Club officials and vehicle speed be kept to a walking pace.
All vehicles must have exited by the time Ormiston House closes its gates at 4:00pm.
